Grace Bluegrass PickersLate in the fall of 2006, Ron Moulton, the "classic" worship leader at Grace Covenant Church assembled a bluegrass group when he discovered we had hidden talent in the congregation. We started practice in late October or early November, and played the "prelude" and offertory during our first service in January. The congregation really seemed to enjoy it. We did "Church in the Wildwood" for that one, mostly because it was a fairly simple one to learn and get sounding good in the short practice time we had. Following that, we worked up 5-6 more numbers, and were ready to perform "I'm Usin' my Bible as a Roadmap" in March when, the week before we were to perform, it was announced that the "classic" service was no longer going to be had, and Ron was let go. We were very disappointed (for a number of reasons), but we have continued on, without Ron's banjo playing and backup vocals. Here are some photo's of a group practice in Feb or March when Katie was here visiting and used her photo skills at our practice that week.
